Exclusive to www.clublifeglobal.com Tony Holder brings you Nodism Radio. Every week two hours of the best in underground beats, with special guests from the industry. This week we have Rob Small.

'Logic will get you from A to B, though Imagination will get you everywhere' - Albert Einstien...........'Rob's name pops up more and more often... that's good! It's PROPER work that he does too - very inventive compared to some others out there at the moment...' - Florian Kruse & Nils Nuernberg (Noir Music, Dessous, NRK) ....... Rob Small is fast becoming one of the most exciting talents to emerge from the UK’s House & Techno scene. His style of Synthetic Techno and ‘Proper’ House Music dj sets has seen him devastate clubs the world over....... Growing up in the early 90’s and listening to Electronic Music was the main influence on Rob, with House & Techno being at the forefront of his inspiration....... No stranger to the scene – at just 19 years old, Rob started his own club night off in September 2006. This event (named ‘Friction’) was held at one of the UK’s most infamous and undergrounds nightclubs – ‘The Mint Club’. The event was not only a platform for Rob to develop his own skills, but was also to showcase the talents of the many artists & performers from the North of the UK, some of which have gone to perform alongside the likes of Sven Vath, Ricardo Villalobos, Jamie Anderson, Loco Dice to name a few....... As a result of this event, Rob was approached by the North of the UK’s Underground Electronic Music Magazine ‘Traffic’ to be interviewed and featured in it for his efforts in his career, thus paving the way for his next step…...... After publicly charting and supporting various home grown talent, Rob was asked to come on board the now worldwide supported ‘Breakoutaudio Records’ as the main A&R consultant. The label had achieved more in a mere 18 months than most have in a decade due to, at the time, having a string of successful releases from the likes of Paul Woolford (2020 Vision Records, R&S Records), Audiojack (2020 Vision Records, Get Physical), & Deepchild (Kompakt, Trapez Records) and hosting label parties across the world at the likes of ‘La Terrazza’ in Barcelona to the WMC in Miami....... This new-found passion for the industry triggered Rob’s enthusiasm for music production, and in January 2009 his Detroit Techno influenced ‘Torment EP’ was snapped up and released on Selektor Music – a USA based label hugely supported by the industries best. Subsequently Rob went on to have a string of releases on various imprints across the globe, from Poland to Portugal, and France to South America, all of which resulted in him catching the attention, support and recognition form the industries finest such as Luciano, Laurent Garnier, Robert Owens, Jamie Anderson, Claude Vonstroke, Manuel De La Mare (303 Lovers), X-Press 2, Yves Eaux (Global Dj & Producer on Sander Kleinenberg's Little Mountain Records label), Roger Sanchez, Gary Beck (Minus), Jet Project (VIVa Music), Murray Richardson, Terry Francis (Fabric), AudioJack (2020 Vision), Slok (Get Physical), Harold Heath (Lost My Dog), Dj Simi (Sci+Tec), Henning Richter (Beef Records), Rob Pearson (Evasive Records/Plastic City), Lunacy Sound Division (Cubism), Matthias Vogt (Motorcitysoul/Cocoon), Nils Nurnburg (Dessous/Save Room Records), Carlo Lio (Rawthentic) & Demi to name a few. His debut Deep-House release on ‘Soulman Music Records’ entitled ‘Alto’ went straight to number 5 on the Beatport Deep House top 10 chart – thus thrusting him into the public eye, this release being one of three to hit the top 100 of it's genre on Beatport just day's after it's release. His releases have been played and supported heavily on the likes of ‘Ibiza Global Radio’, to ‘X – Press2’s Ministry Of Sound Radio’, to Roger Sanchez’s ‘Release Yourself’....... Rob has played in super-clubs around the world alongside both well established and Up & Coming talent - highlights of these experiences come in the form of two Ibiza tours, and UK touring dates alongside Sasha, Matthias Tanzmann, Robert Dietz, Damian Schwartz, Jamie Jones, amongst many others....... All this, along with an exciting Dj Schedule has resulted in Rob becoming a prolific producer and in demand artist, and has now made many collaborations and completed remix duties for world-renowned labels

Nodism Radio Show 17th September with Rainer Weichhold
September 18, 2011 06:44 AM PDT

Nodism Radio returns with Rainer Weichhold from Kling Klong and Great Stuff Records. Two hours for pure underground house, hosted by Tony Wonky Holder aka Son of Nod. Weekly 6pm till 8pm GMT on www.clublifeglobal.com
Bio Rainer Weichhold

Rainer Weichhold started djing a long time ago in the late 80ies with an eclectic mixture of Funk, Hip Hop and Indie. First he was a true hater of everything techno and house, which only changed when he had his enlightenment listening to the sets of Alex From Tokyo during Rainer’s stay in France 1993. Alex showed him how house music can be soulful and made him discover the world of Masters At Work and their NY sound.

1993 was also the year Rainer met and enjoyed Daft Punk for the first time, which obviously also helped him to get into that sound.

These days Rainer Weichhold plays two resident clubs and is touring all over Europe with his brilliant mixture of house, techhouse and classics. And be aware, his sets are rocking and making every dancefloor explode. So many years of experience can’t go wrong.

But that’s not everything as Rainer Weichhold was also the A&R of the German label Great Stuff Records, where he discovered artists like Gregor Tresher, Butch, Ramon Tapia, Lützenkirchen and many more. The label quickly gained massive respect and plays by the first league of the world’s biggest djs.

Since beginning of 2010 Rainer also manages the label Kling Klong records together with his friend Martin Eyerer.

After his very successful debut single “Naked”, he released his first Great Stuff 12” “Infinite Template” (with remixes by Kissy Sell Out and Martin Eyerer) in January 2007, a collaboration with Italian producers and DJs Dandi & Ugo which gained support by countless DJs for example Agoria, Mylo, Gregor Tresher, Oliver Koletzki, Etienne De Crécy.

Rainer’s own „Bamboo/Very Nice“ was released at the end of 2007 on Great Stuff featuring remixes by Format:B and Michoacan. With great support by Claude VonStroke, Karotte, Gregor Tresher, Paolo Mojo, Acquaviva, Prins Thomas, Shinedoe and Oliver Koletzki.

End of 2009 he finally came up with the highly acclaimed “Flashmobbing EP” on Great Stuff, followed up shortly by the singles “Ride The Horse” (Starlight), “Tango For Noemi” (GSR), “I Want You” (Kling Klong) and “Reis ft. Helge Schneider” (BluFin) in 2010
His remix for the classic “Push Push” from Rockers Hi-Fi still gets played even nearly 2 years after release.

Nodism Radio Show 3rd September with Paul Lyman
September 07, 2011 12:51 PM PDT

Returning to www.clublifeglobal.com the special guest joining me is Paul Lyman. Read on..

2010 has already seen Nottingham based Paul Lyman gain increasing recognition for his skills both as a DJ and a producer. This looks set to continue with several exciting new projects in the pipeline. With dates in Ibiza over the summer and a busy schedule in the UK alongside his residency for Gatecrasher, Paul looks set to further enhance his reputation as an exciting talent.

The past 18 months have seen Paul develop his studio skills with his recent productions reflecting the more underground and electronic sound he’s been playing out as a DJ. Paul’s production already has backing from major players in the underground dance scene, Elite Force, General Midi, Alex Dolby, Cut Le Roc, Dead Famous, Sonny Wharton and more. With reviews in Mixmag, IDJ and DJ magazine and being a recent winner of the ‘Raw Talent’ mix competition in IDJ,

2010 can only see Paul’s carrier take to the next level.

Elite Force recently remixed Paul’s massive breaks track “Break Through” which stormed the charts. This remix came about when Elite Force heard the original track back in the summer of 2009 and decided to get his hands dirty for his up and coming tour of Oz, where he thought the tune would go down a storm, and he was not wrong! This was released on “Dusted Breaks Records” which Paul has numerous releases on and they won the ‘Best New Label’ award Breakspoll hosted at Fabric in London.

Paul is now looking forward to the rest of 2010. Not only being asked to remix tracks for the brand new D-Ream album which is due for release over the summer, he has just been confirmed to play the world renowned Glastonbury Festival 2010 where he will play on the Cuban Henge outdoor stage alongside Kissy Sellout and A Skills.

Paul has also played at many of the UK’s major clubs nights and venues including the Ministry of Sound, Dusted, Stealth, Renaissance, Passion and Gatecrasher, while his international travels have taken him to New Zealand, Australia, Greece, Tenerife, Dubai, Thailand and Poland. There has been plenty of Ibiza action too with dates at Cream, Garlands, Bora Bora, Eden and El Divino, and Paul will be back this summer for a series of Blend dates across the island.

Towards the end of 2008 Paul relaunched Blend in Derby with outstanding success. Blend was originally held at the legendary Gatehouse venue in Derby where it regularly attracted over 1,000 clubbers every Saturday night for four years. It also became one of the leading house nights in the Midlands and provided the perfect platform for Paul to develop his skills as a DJ. In fact, he is well known for his superb technical skills and has 10 years of DJing experience behind him playing alongside the likes of Faithless, Terry Francis, Justin Robertson, Pete Tong, Roger Sanchez, Dave Spoon, Krafty Kuts, David Morales, Micky Slim, Danny Rampling, Yousef, X-Press 2 and the Scratch Perverts. Pete Tong also interviewed Paul on his Radio 1 show talking about Blend and his own career while he regularly contributes guest mixes and interviews to Galaxy FM.

With a musical style that ranges from Tech House and Techno to Breaks, Dubstep and Drum & Bass always with an underground edge things can only get bigger for Paul Lyman over the coming months.
